"When art meets light, magic is created that illuminates the soul," says Jasper, one of the guides at Fabrique des Lumières, as he welcomes visitors at the entrance. The space itself is a work of art; the hall's vaults, once filled with the roar of machinery, are now the canvas on which light and color dance.
The immersive exhibition ‘From Vermeer to Van Gogh, Dutch Masters’ (every day from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.) in Fabrique des Lumières on the Westergasfabriek grounds spectacularly brings the works of these legendary painters to life. “Here we see how these masters captured the everyday, meticulously illuminating every detail,” Jasper says, pointing to the vivid projections of cityscapes and winter landscapes. “Notice the light, how it illuminates each subject as if the sun itself were shining inside the hall.”
Accompanied by the gentle tones of classical music, the space feels almost sacred, a temple dedicated to the art of observing and capturing life. Each corner of the hall offers a new perspective, a new world to step into.

Next, in stark contrast to the serene atmosphere of the Dutch masters, is the exhibition "Mondrian, An Excess of Color. "Mondrian's work is an explosion of color and form, a visual spectacle that invites the visitor to explore how simplicity can resonate with complexity," Jasper explains. The musical accompaniment here ranges from the minimalist sounds of Ólafur Arnalds to the energetic rhythms of Quincy Jones, reflecting the dynamic nature of Mondrian's art.
